Festive Cheers! | 8 Easy Diwali Mithai & Namkeen Recipes

The Diwali Festivities are ON!! And we absolutely love to celebrate our festivals with lots of love, cooking, and food :)

There is something Magical about the Diwali Season.

Spreading festive cheers, Lighting up the lamps, Preparing and Eating lots of Mithai & Nakeen etc. etc.   Here is a round-up of 8 easy Diwali Mithai & Namkeen that I have prepared - tried, tested & tasted - won the hearts of family & friends.

Dates, Nuts & Coffee Laddu - Here is one of the simplest, quickest dessert recipe, ever!!  A little twist on Date & Nuts laddu.  Half way through making the laddus, it occurred to me that why not I add instant coffee to it!! How can someone resist that idea? Coffee aur puchh puchh? Kabhi nahi :)  I added it, and absolutely loved that surprise ingredient!  You can try adding it to a portion of the dessert too, and see how you like it. These are essentially 'no-rule' laddus, as far as ingredients and proportion of each ingredient goes.  So get your creative hats on!

Tikha GathiaEating is a necessity, but cooking is an art.

I finally took out the mystery out of making tikha gathia this Diwali season. Have always enjoyed snacking on these all my life, but had never learned how to make it, until this past weekend. Mom taught me this recipe.  If you haven't made this before, I suggest you make it under someone's supervision, as this involves frying in hot oil and hence need to be cautious.

Coconut LadduOnce again, one of the easiest dessert recipes ever!  Coconut laddus are loved by all.

SandeshYet another quick and easy dessert for Diwali.  Sandesh - this can be made either with home made fresh paneer or from store bought paneer.  I made it with fresh paneer.  But feel free to use the store bought paneer to make this dessert in quick 20 minutes.  The texture of Sandesh made from home-made paneer would be grainier compared to the store bought one.  Can't beat the freshness of it, though!

Kesar Peda: The goodness, richness, softness, and freshness of these Kesar Pedas are absolutely Divine!  Once yo make these at home, no other Peda in the world will match up with your creation! Try it.

Farsi Puri: Eat it with chai, or just by itself - Farsi Puri wins the hearts of all.  The crispy goodness is a universally loved tea-time snack, especially made during Diwali!

Kalakand:  Here is a very easy, quick, delicious version of Kalakand recipe for the occasion.  You'll be surprised how quick and delicious it is. Most of the 25 minutes of time is the cooking time, so you don't have to do much except for sing and dance in the kitchen while the recipe cooks by itself - well, almost!  So here goes..

Mawa Cupcakes (eggless):  And here is a melt in mouth, eggless, mawa cupcakes recipe.  As usual, I have added my own little twist to it, to make it innovative.  These are hands down the absolute favorite of my friends and family, including myself.  This would become an instant hit with kids!
